Common questions.
Do I really need RCDs on every circuit?
Under current AS/NZ 3000, any new or altered circuit needs RCD protection. For older boards we strongly recommend doing the lot, it’s the single biggest safety improvement.
Will I lose power for long?
Usually 4-6 hours of power-off. We coordinate with TasNetworks where needed and time it around your day.
Worth doing before adding solar or EV?
Almost always yes. Modern inverters and chargers need a compliant board, doing both at once saves call-out and labour costs.
What about ceramic fuses?
Legacy tech. Don’t trip on small faults, no earth-leakage protection, a known fire risk. We replace them with modern combo RCBOs.
